To quote the great country singer, Mark Chestnutt, Cowboys Jerry Jones is going through the Big D; this time, I do Mean Dallas.
It was another embarrassing loss, this time to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday by a score of 27-21. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott did everything he could to will this team to victory, but a hamstring injury forced him out of the game, and the reports are now that he could miss multiple weeks with the injury.
Things continue to go bad for the Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones. As the game was winding down, you could see Prescott mumble the phrase, “We insert expletive Suck.”
You never want that from a player making $60 million. Yes, he was injured, and the game was over, but this has been going on all season. We talk about one-dimensional offences; the Dallas Cowboys are one-dimensional. ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky said it best: The Cowboys run in straight lines and are so easy to defend.
That is on head coach Mike McCarthy, whom Jerry Jones criticized during his radio spot a few weeks ago. He called out the play calling of McCarthy with this offense. And you can see nothing has changed. The Dallas Cowboys can only throw the ball, and everyone in the NFL knows.
Yes, the Dallas Cowboys have injuries, but when the guys were healthy and playing, they still could not win football games. But where does the blame lie?
Well, it starts with the general manager, who is the owner. It starts with Jerry Jones for not improving this roster in the offseason. He brought back older running back Ezekiel Elliott. They could’ve had Derrick Henry, but apparently, he did not fit into the scheme of what the Cowboys were doing.

Many people wondered why Jerry Jones brought back Mike McCarthy. He is a lame-duck coach anyway. You could see something was not clicking toward the end of last season, not to mention the hiring of Mike Zimmer as the defensive coordinator.
But Jerry Jones continues to find excuses. Injuries or playing calling or something else. Instead of looking at himself because of his poor decisions this past off-season. All he has to do is say, my bad, and all is forgiven for the most part.
Jerry Jones sees his world crumble right before his eyes. The Dallas Cowboys could have addressed other areas of need but chose not to. He thought this roster was good enough to win when it was not.
Instead, they wasted time negotiating deals for Ceedee Lamb and Dak Prescott before the start of the season, so now there was no money to address those areas of need at the running back position and on defense. You got Dak and Ceedee done last season and worked the deals so that there was money to pay other guys.
But Jerry Jones did not, and he had to see the punter, who threw three passes in his entire 13-year career, throw a pass on a fake punt instead of the $60 million man in Dak Prescott.
While McCarthy's playing call was poor, especially on the 4th and 1 call, this roster is flawed. The schemes are too vanilla, and nothing is going to save the season now.
Orlovsky said it best: the Dallas Cowboys are undisciplined, sloppy, poorly coached and subpar talented.
The World Jerry Jones Has Built is Falling Apart, and he has no one to blame but himself.
