AP Top 25 College Football Poll: Miami in the Top Five
October has come to an end in the College Football season and finally a team has staked their claim to the top spot. The Oregon Ducks entered the last weekend in October number one in the AP Top 25 College Football Poll and leave the month of October as the number one team in the nation.
Oregon is starting to find their groove with Dillon Gabriel as Dan Lanning continues to keep the Ducks in the title hunt in the Big Ten. Let’s see if things that way when November begins.
The number of undefeated teams are starting to wind down. Along with Oregon, Penn State, Miami, Army, Indiana, BYU, Pittsburgh, and Iowa State remained unbeaten. If things continue Iowa State and BYU could battle for the Big 12 Title as unbeaten teams.
How about the Indiana Hoosiers? No not the basketball team, but the football team. Google Curt Cignetti. All he does is win. Without quarterback Kurtis Rourke the Hoosiers defense keep them in striking distance of the Big Ten title game.
In addition, the Miami Hurricanes are back in the Top 5 for the first time in 2017. This is a huge accomplished for a program that has a steep history of tradition being in the top five and winning championship.

With Oregon being number one and Georgia number two, there will be a changed after next week as Ohio St will battle Penn St between the number three and four teams respectively.
Behind the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions, the U is at five. Texas is at six with Tennessee at seven followed by Notre Dame at eight, BYU at nine, and Texas A&M at 10. Interesting to see Indiana at 13 still despite beating Washington without Rourke.
Pitt is down at 18 despite remaining unbeaten. Again the ACC is having a down year and is Clemson as good as people think they are. Feels like another unbeaten is going down this week. Colorado is back in the Top 25 and is bow eligible for the first time since 2016.
It will be interesting to see how things play out as the calendar switches to November. With the new conference schedules, things should get interesting moving forward.
