AP Top 25 College Football Poll: Statements Made
The College Football regular season has come to an end with Championship Weekend upcoming before the College Football Playoff and Bowl Season. It was another chaotic Saturday in college football. Rivalry weekend never disappoints with teams having a shot to clinch playoff spots and failing.
It is always fun to see how the writers and the people who watch the sport for most of the year think compared to the official rankings and bracket that come out Tuesday. Only a couple more of these AP Top 25 Polls left in the College Football season. It would be interesting to see what the playoff would like based on these rankings.
The Oregon Ducks are proving they are best team in the nation. It does not matter the opponent they are sending statements. Similar to Indiana who sent a statement to the committee and writers they are one of the best 12 teams around. Ohio State, now at 7, continues to come up short against Michigan and it will cost them a shot at the Big 10 title and maybe home field in the first round.
Arizona State and SMU both rose in the polls and left no doubt who will be playing for the ACC and Big 12 Championships this weekend. Notre Dame after their stumble against Northern Illinois looks like one of the best teams in the nation. The Irish sit at four behind Texas at 2 and Penn State at 3.
There was chaos in the ACC, Miami dropped another game to an unranked Syracuse team. They fall to 14 while Clemson, who backed their way into the title game in the ACC is at 18.

You look at Georgia, they are at five in the AP Poll and should have a spot in the playoff regardless of outcome same with Texas. And Tennessee who is at six will be in the playoff as well. With Alabama sitting at 11 in the writers poll it will be interesting what the committee does with them on Tuesday.
How about South Carolina now at 13 in the AP Top 25. They are making a strong case for the playoff as well. Army at 24 will host Tulane in the American championship. Boise State is at 10 will host UNLV in the Mountain West.
We will say that Kansas should be ranked higher than Missouri after their last couple of weeks.
The season is dwindling, and there is still much to be determined.
