AP Top 25 College Football Poll: Alabama and Ole Out of the Top 10
The College Football season has been pure chaos from start to finish. It was another wild and crazy weekend of College Football. The transfer portal and NIL have made parity in the world of College Football, especially in the SEC. Conference realignment also helps.
With the official rankings coming out on Tuesday, it will be interesting to see how the committee views things compared to how the writers vote in the AP Top 25. But we all know the College Football Playoff is scripted by TV. Just imagine if they went off the writers who actually watch the games.
With only a week left in the regular season and then championship weekend, the Oregon Ducks and Ohio State Buckeyes are the top two teams in the nation. In the SEC, it was chaos, with Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and Alabama losing. Indiana’s narrative about not making a playoff is gone.
How about Arizona State? They are a win away from clinching a spot in the Big 12 Championship. They held on against BYU and the surprise team in the Big 12 in Kansas. Just imagine if they played like this all year. Three straight weeks with an upset. First Iowa State, then BYU, and now Colorado.
You also have to wonder about Notre Dame and where they would be if they didn’t lose to Northern Illinois. They dominate every team they play and have the best point differential in college football.

Georgia is in the SEC Championship Game and will play the winner of Texas and Texas A&M. They are up to sixth in these rankings. Texas is at three. Meanwhile, Alabama is down to 13, with Ole Miss at 15. Just look how one bad loss at the wrong time of the year hurts a team’s chances.
Indiana is down to 10, so that is a good sign. The writers know what Indiana did before the Ohio State game. It's the same with Penn State. More on that at another time. SMU is up nine, with Miami at eight. SMU is in the ACC Championship Game, and if the Hurricanes beat Syracuse, they play each other in the title game.
We will say that Kansas should be ranked higher than Missouri after their last couple of weeks.
The season is dwindling, and there is still much to be determined.
