AP Top 25 College Football Poll: Texas Back To Number 1
I'm sorry for the delay in the AP Top 25 College Football. I was travelling back from Quebec City.
October started with a bang. There is a reason why we love college football. The first AP Top 25 college football of October saw a lot of changes, especially with the upsets on Saturday.
After this weekend, college football will have a few undefeated teams. These include Texas, Oregon, Penn State, Miami, Army, Navy, Liberty, Indiana, BYU, Pittsburgh, and Iowa State.
Who would have the Army and Navy there to begin the season? Everyone expected Texas; it was the same with Oregon, Miami, and maybe Penn State. But the others are shocking. However, it is a crazy year in college football.
The weekend's big story was that five of the top 11 teams from the previous week's AP Top 25 Poll went down. (1) Alabama lost to Vanderbilt, (4) Tennessee fell to Arkansas, (10) Michigan lost to Washington, (11) USC lost to Minnesota, and Texas A&M beat (9) Missouri. In addition, (22) Louisville and (25) UNLV lost. Also, (8) had a scare rallying from 28 points down to beat Cal.
The Texas Longhorns are back at the top spot for this week's Poll, followed by Ohio State. They might be the two best teams this year. But anything can happen with how these new conference schedules play out.

Following Texas and Ohio St, the Oregon Ducks are at three, followed by Penn State at four. Even though Miami is undefeated, they had to rally, and the writers feel Georgia is still a better team. So the Bulldogs are at five, and the Hurricanes are at six. Alabama, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Clemson are rounding out the top 10.
Looking at the rest of the AP Top 25, Iowa State is up to 11, BYU is at 15, and Indiana is at 18, with Oklahoma and Kansas St. Meanwhile, unbeaten Pittsburgh is at 22. Oddly enough, no Army or Navy is in the Top 25.
Again, there is a lot of the season left, and as conference play begins, we will see how these teams stack up.
