Is the ACC Championship the Miami Hurricanes to Lose?
Latest Odds on Which Team Will Win the ACC
The College Football Season is here. Week 1 has started, and there is already some movement inside these conferences. And right now, the best team in the ACC is the Miami Hurricanes.
There are lots of changes happening across the sport's landscape. Florida State is the defending ACC Champion, but they already have a loss, falling to Georgia Tech in Week 0. While the Seminoles still have a chance to win the conference, everyone has high hopes for Miami, with Clemson and NC State as the other favourites to come out of the ACC.
As we stated, as of Week 1, the Miami Hurricanes look like the best team in the ACC. They did what they had to do against the poor Florida Gators team and used style to win. Again, it is still early, and the ACC may only get one team into the expanded college football playoff.
The Atlantic Coast Conference will get an automatic bid, with the champion going straight to the playoffs. The ACC Champion's record will determine whether they get a bye and become one of the top four teams or fall to number five. They could be back in the playoffs if Miami takes care of business.

As we look at the odds, some things stand out. The Miami Hurricanes are the team to beat right now. Quarterback Cam Ward, the transfer from Washington State, is a stud. The defense is well-rounded. Miami's offense looks strong, with multiple running backs and wide receivers.
It is a tough offensive scheme to plan for, especially given Ward's ability to run the ball. Mario Cristobal has pressure on him this year with the Hurricanes. With an ideal schedule, the Canes should factor into the ACC Championship Game.

As for the rest of the conference, the ACC is the weakest in the Power 4, while the Big 12 is a little more potent. Again, there was a lot of hope for the Clemson Tigers, but their blowout loss to Georgia has many people wondering about Dabo Swinney's job. Swinney refuses to use the transfer portal, and his recruiting is not great. I'm not sure how Clemson was the preseason favorite to win the conference.
NC State is next in line, but the conference is wide open because of the lack of depth. Lots of the top teams have taken steps back this season. Virginia Tech lost in Week 1, and North Carolina lost a quarterback and hung on because Minnesota couldn't make a field goal. Does anyone think Georgia Tech can really get to the title game? They are off to a strong start.
Again, 12 teams make the College Football Playoff this season. So, with one team coming out of the ACC and the conference potentially having a down year, this is the year the Miami Hurricanes can take advantage as they have the best team on paper and the field.
