AP Top 25 College Football Poll: Vols Number Five
The 2024 College Football season is underway. Full Press Media is ramping up our college football coverage this season. We have already given you the betting odds for the 2025 National Champion and each conference champion.
In addition, we will provide the AP Top 25 Poll when it becomes available. The new rankings are out, and there are changes in the top five. The Tennessee Volunteers are in the top five, passing Ole Miss. The Volunteers had an impressive win against Oklahoma. Tennessee had beaten up a couple of bad teams before heading to Norman. Their defense was able to make a couple of big stands. This Volunteers team is for real.
Again, the trend continues with the writers. If you perform, you rise; if you don't, you fall. The Miami Hurricanes are up from eight to seven after an impressive win against South Florida. No, Quinn Ewers, no problem. Arch Manning looked solid as Texas took care of business against UL Monroe, and the Longhorns remain number one.
Another team that moved up in the rankings is the Utah Utes. Utah was at 12, but they are now in the Top 10 after their big win against the Oklahoma State Cowboys, which took control of the Big 12. Can't sleep on the Utes who are a tough out in the Pac-12.

As mentioned, the top three teams are Texas, Georgia, and Ohio St. Ohio St. struggled with Marshall before opening up the doors on Marshall. With Utah moving to 10, Penn State goes to 9. With their win over USC, Michigan went from 18 to 12, while USC went from 11 to 13. The Clemson Tigers jumped from 21 to 17 after their rout against NC State. Again, style points matter even though it is a 12-team playoff.
Surprisingly, Rutgers is not in the Top 25 after its win against Virginia Tech. In addition, the Washington State Cougars and the Boston College Eagles are outside of the Top 25. Washington State is on a mission and feels snubbed as it keeps the Pac-12 alive.
Again, there is a lot of the season left, and as conference play begins, we will see how these teams stack up.
